The Galvani Medal 2011 is awarded to Akira Fujishima

The Division of Electrochemistry of the Italian Chemical Society is pleased to announce that on the occasion of the International Year of Chemistry 2011, the Galvani Medal 2011 is awarded to Akira Fujishima, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of photocatalysis and in particular in the study of the photocatalytic and superhydrophilic properties of titanium dioxide.

The Medal will be presented on the occasion of the XXIV National Congress of the Italian Chemical Society, in Lecce, 11-16 September 2011.
