(Divisione di Spettrometria di Massa)

Scuola di Ingegneria
Università degli Studi della Basilicata

Alessandro Buchicchio is a PhD student at Università degli Studi della Basilicata, where he received the MSc in chemistry in 2013. His PhD research is focused on development and validation of analytical methods for the determination of persistent organic pollutants by HRGC-HRMS and emerging contaminants by HPLC-MS/MS, and their application in the sensitive areas in Basilicata. Fascinated by mass spectrometry, his interests and his research activities range from proteomic and metabolomic fields to structural characterization of biomolecules and organic residues. He is author of several conference communications and his main works were published on peer-reviewed journals. He is board-member in the Young Chemical Society representing the division of Mass Spectrometry (DSM) for the period 2016-2018. The personal aim for this activity, together with executive board of Division of Mass Spectrometry and Young Group of the Italian Chemical Society, is that of establishing and promoting a profitable dialogue and discussion between young mass spectrometrists and not only, favoring the spread and strengthening of science, technology and education of this discipline through publications, conferences, courses, workshops and other initiatives (Art. 1 of the DSM Regulations).
