Alice Soldà
(Divisione di Elettrochimica)

Dipartimento di Chimica "G. Ciamician"
Università di Bologna

Alice Soldà is a Postdoctoral research fellow at University of Bologna. She got her M.Sc. degree in Chemistry at University of Padova and she obtained her PhD in Chemistry at University of Bologna working in collaboration with the European Institute of Oncology (IEO, Milan). During her studies she spent visiting periods abroad as Erasmus student at NTNU (Trondheim, NO) working on 2D/3D-NMR protein analysis (supervisor Prof. A. Dikiy); as M.Sc. student at University of Connecticut (Storrs, USA) working on electrochemical immunosensors for cancer biomarkers detection (supervisor Prof. JF. Rusling); and as PhD student at University of Warwick (Coventry, UK) working on micrometric sensors for in tissues analysis (supervisor Prof. N. Dale). Currently, she is working on a SIR project concerning cellular uptake of C60@protein hybrids and their application in cancer therapy (supervisors: Dr. Stefania Rapino and Dr. Matteo Calvaresi). Her main research activity is focused on electrochemistry for biological applications, Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy, electrochemical surface functionalization and modification techniques for micrometric sensor development, cell culture and tissues analysis. She has been awarded for Best PhD and Best M.Sc. Thesis work from the Electrochemistry Division of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI). She has been awarded for the best poster price during the 65th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry. She is board-member in the Young Group of SCI representing the division of Electrochemistry. For this 3-years activity she would like to contribute and extend the feeling of belonging to the Society, to spread the benefits of networking, to improve connections among all the young Italian chemists and to promote fruitful collaboration between academia and business. Besides being a chemist, she plays many sports and she loves traveling.
