Seconda Indagine sull'occupazione dei Chimici Europei

We are now just a few days away from the launching of the 2nd Employment Survey for European Chemists (ESEC2), which is being run by the European Chemistry Thematic Network Association (ECTN) and by the European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences (EuCheMS). I write to ask you to disseminate the information about ESEC2 throughout the members of your Society as much as possible.

The survey, which is completely anonymous, will be accessible at http://www.euchems.eu/esec2/ from 1 March until 31 March 2017, and its main objective is to create a clear snapshot of the chemistry labour market. This snapshot will allow an analysis of educational offer and labour market needs, gender balance, salary differences, etc. As the situation of chemistry greatly differs from country to country (as the previous iteration of this survey shows) it is important that we gather enough specific information for your country in order to allow a specific analysis of your country´s profile. Having such a level of detail will be in the best interest of employees, employers, and universities.

From our experience with the previous ESEC Survey, the response rate of Societies where the President/General Secretary wrote to its members was much bigger than those where there was only a link on the Society´s website. We therefore encourage a multi-channel dissemination strategy including a letter from the President/General Secretary to all members, as well as website, social media and newsletter announcements. You are also always welcome to share EuCheMS twitter and facebook announcements, or to download and use these promotional materials.

Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate in contacting secretariat@euchems.eu.
